About the Wedding PartyGet to know the bride & groom and other members of the wedding party
 The Bride: Emily Reich
Emily lived in Seattle until she was 10 and then moved to Connecticut. She graduated from Staples High School in 1992. She attended Amherst College and then moved to the Washington, DC area to work at a web design firm specializing in designing web sites for non-profit advocacy groups. On a whim, she ran off to attend business school in Paris (and Philadelphia, plus a month in Tokyo) and then moved out to California after graduating in 2000. She worked as a project director at Group Jazz and eventually went back to school (again) for a masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State, which she just finally finished in Dec. 2005. She now is trying out life in both corporate and public libraries.
Her Mom (Ann) and step-father (Bill) live in Westport, CT, where the wedding is taking place. Her father (Jay) and step-mother (Jane) live in Seattle. Her brother (Brian) and his wife (Karen), live in Boston. Her sister Betty is a sophomore at GW. Her brother Eduard is a freshman at Bucknell. Her step-sister Liz is a sophomore at BU, her step-sister Annie is a sophomore at Staples High School. Her step-brother Brian and his wife (Laurel) live in Seattle.

 The Groom: Shachar Shem-Tov
Shachar was born in Jerusalem and moved with his family to a settlement when he was about 6 years old. 2 years later, he moved back to Jerusalem and then went to an environmental boarding school for high school about 40 km south of Beersheeva. He graduated in 1989 and went into the army. Then he went to university at Ben Gurion (undergrad biology with an emphasis in ecology) and then stayed to get his masters and PhD in ecology (with a dissertation on survival strategies of desert plants or something). Then he's been here in the US doing his Post Doc work since Aug 2001.
His Mom (Shula) lives in Jerusalem and his dad (Shimon) and his step-mother (Sari) live a bit outside of Jerusalem with his sister (Riki, who just got out of the army and brother Tomer, who is about to go into the army and won't be able to come to the wedding) His other sister (Sharon, lawyer) lives with her boyfriend in Jerusalem.
For fun, Shachar likes to cook, play chess, listen to music, skype (which is voice-over-ip-telephony) with his friends and family in Israel and elsewhere around the world, watch movies (we're working our way through all the israeli movies on
netflicks and blockbuster by mail), and tickle Emily.
